These letter T tracing worksheets give 3 dotted rows of capital T and 3 of lowercase t, then top and ten, each with an empty row. The 63 T words below: plain t, tr and tw blends, th words.

Read the full guide

Thirty lowercase t's, then top and ten

At Large (19 mm), 3 rows hold 18 capital T's on Letter, 15 on A4. Lowercase t is narrow and prints in 2 groups of 5, which makes 30. Page 2 has top and ten, 9 times each. Whatever you type replaces all four sample rows. To keep the letter rows, put T on the first line of the Words box and t t t t t on the second.

Plain t first, th later

Start where t says t: the front of top and ten, the end of net and sit. Tr and tw come next. In tree and train the tr can sound close to chr, so say those slowly. Th is its own sound. Castle and listen have a silent t.

  • For lowercase t say: straight down, lift, then cross. The cross stroke sits just under the dashed line.
  • Type t l t l in the Words box: t is about 16 mm at Large, l is 19.

Questions and answers

How do I make letter T tracing worksheets preschool children will use?

Choose Extra large (26 mm) under Letter height, then set Rows to trace to 2 in More options. The sheet stays at 2 pages and prints 5 lowercase t's to a row. A third traced row makes it 4 pages.

Why is lowercase t shorter than l?

That is how this letter style draws it: t stops short of the top line, while l, b and d go all the way up. Its starting dot is the only lowercase dot at that height, so point it out before the first row.

Do th words belong on a letter T sheet?

For tracing, yes: each one starts with the letter t. For sounds, keep them apart, since th is a new sound, buzzing in this and quiet in thumb. In a few names the pair just says t: Thomas, Thailand and the river Thames.

Can I print a T name such as Tom or Tina?

Yes. Type it into the Words box in place of the sample rows. Tom and Tina fit twice across a row. Thomas gets a row alone. Whatever is typed rides along in the share link, so leave student names out. More letters: letter tracing worksheets.
