One letter at a time
Letter to find runs from A a to Z z. Grid sets 24, 30, 36 or 48 places. Under More options, Capital or lowercase can limit the hunt to capitals or to lowercase letters; the opening sheet counts both. The other letters in the grid are mostly ones a child might mix up with the target.
Review letters worksheets for the week
Print one sheet for each letter taught that week: change Letter to find, press Print worksheet, and repeat.
- The answer key prints last, with the count of copies for each grid. More options has the box to leave it off.
- Kind of sheet also has A shape: circle every star, heart or hexagon among other shapes.
Questions and answers
What do letter recognition worksheets for preschool ask a child to do?
Look at one letter, find every copy of it in a grid of other letters, circle each one, then count the circles and write the number. There is no writing of letters and no reading of words.
Can the sheet show only lowercase letters?
Yes. Under More options, set Capital or lowercase to Lowercase only. With the letter b, the grid then mixes b with look-alikes such as d, p and q.
How many letters are in the grid?
The opening sheet has 30 places in five rows of six. Grid changes it to 24, 36 or 48 places.
