How it works
A Christmas color by sight word sheet is a pixel picture with a word in each square. Type your list in Your words and press Print this sheet. The page opens on the Snow globe, which needs only 4 words.

Christmas sight words and two everyday lists
Under Start from a list are Everyday words 1 (here, our, put, what, do, not), Everyday words 2 (open, yet, who, all, of, us, want) and Christmas words: tree, star, gift, bell, snow, elf, sled, card, toy and wrap.
Read the six sentences together
Every everyday word comes from one of these: Here is our tree. Put a star on top. What is in the gift? Do not open it yet! Who will ring the bell? All of us want snow.
- Holly, Poinsettia, Ribbon bow and Peppermint candy have 3 colors at both sizes. String of lights, Fireplace and Gingerbread house have 5.
- Everyday words 1 has six words, just enough for a 5-color picture, so the whole list lands on the sheet.
Questions and answers
Do the pictures show Santa or a nativity scene?
No. The eight are a snow globe, a string of lights, a ribbon bow, a fireplace, holly, a poinsettia, a peppermint candy and a gingerbread house: decorations, plants and sweets, with no character and no religious image.
Is the answer key on the same page?
No, on the next one. The worksheet prints on page 1 and the colored picture on page 2. To skip the key, untick Answer key on page 2 in More options, which sits under the grid.
Can I add my own words to the Christmas words?
Yes. Choose Christmas words under Start from a list and the ten words appear in the box. Type more after them or delete some, and the sheet is redrawn from what the box holds.
