How it works
This visitor sign up sheet template is a paper log for a front desk. Each visitor writes one line on the way in and adds the time out when leaving, so a line with no time out is someone still in the building.

One page for the week, or one page a day
A quiet desk can leave one page out all week, because each line carries its own date. A busy desk does better with the one-day sheet: its lines are numbered, so the last number used is the day's count of visitors.
When a badge goes with the visitor
If the desk hands out numbered badges, the badge number sheet has a column for the number. A badge that has not come back shows as a line with a number and no time out.
Questions and answers
What should a visitor sign up sheet include?
The date, the visitor's name, who or what they came to see, and the times they arrived and left. A reason for the visit or a badge number earns a column only if someone at the desk reads it.
Is a paper visitor sign in sheet private?
No. Each visitor can read the lines above their own. That is why no sheet here asks for a phone number, an address or an ID number; collect those another way if the desk needs them.
How many visitors fit on one sheet?
Twenty on the upright sheets and 15 on the sideways ones, each on one Letter or A4 page. A line added at the foot of the sheet before printing leaves a little less room to write on every line.
