The line number is the entry number
Press Print the sign up sheet and post it. A cook signs on the next free line. That number is the entry number on the other sheets here: the cards for the table, the judge's sheet, the tally and the ballots.
Sheets for the day
Entry cards print six to a page with Entry number, Name of the chili and Heat lines. The judge's sheet has Taste, Texture, Aroma, Look and Total boxes for entries 1 to 20. People's choice ballots print eight to a page. A helpers list names eight jobs, from Table set-up to Take-down.
- The top score on the judge's sheet is a blank in the sentence above the table.
- More than 12 entries? The entry list has 20 numbered lines and no check boxes.
Questions and answers
What goes on a chili cook off sign up sheet?
The event and the date, then a numbered line for each entry: the cook, the name of the chili, how hot it is and what kind. The opening sheet prints check boxes for the last two.
Is there a sign up sheet for sides and toppings?
Yes. One sheet prints Cornbread, Shredded cheese, Sour cream, Onions, Crackers, Corn chips, Drinks, Bowls and spoons and Dessert down the side, then three blank lines, with columns for a name and how many.
How is this different from a potluck sign up sheet?
A potluck sign up sheet sorts dishes by course and has no contest. Here every entry has a number, and the judge's sheet, the tally and the ballots use that number.
Does the page say how to judge a cook-off?
No. Taste, Texture, Aroma and Look are column names of our own, not the rules of any contest, and the highest score is left blank. Cross out a heading to use your own.
Do cooks enter on this page?
No. Cooks write on the printed sheet with a pen. What you type on the sheet stays in this browser, and the page has no list of entries.
