How it works

This online timer opens stopped at 5:00 and asks one thing: how long? It is a count down timer for any length from 10 seconds to 3 hours, drawn as a disc with large digits.

Set a timer in three steps

1. Set timer length. Press 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 min, or type your own. 2. Start timer. Press Start the timer. 3. Add time. Press + 1 min under the timer, also while it runs.

A school timer for lengths without a page

Each ready-made routine sets its own length, from a 90 second tidy to a 3 hour workshop, and puts one cue on the screen. Locker stop between lessons sets 6:00 and says Lockers shut at 2:00 left. The timings are suggestions.

  • Digital timer or timer with progress bar: open More options and press Digits or Bar under View.

Questions and answers

Is this a full screen timer?

Yes. Press Full screen on the timer and the face and the digits grow to fill the screen, without the site's menus. Press Esc to leave. Changing tabs or apps closes it too.

Is it a silent timer or a timer with sound?

Silent until you choose. The end sound is off when the page opens and nothing flashes: the screen says Time is up. For a timer with alarm, press Sound: off beside Start the timer to switch on a soft chime.

How do I set a timer for a length that has no button?

Type it. Tap the time and type the digits: 7 gives 7:00, and 045 gives 45 seconds. Press Enter, or just press Start the timer.

Can a school countdown timer run for a whole period?

Yes. Type the period in minutes, up to 180: 45 shows 45:00 and 90 shows 1:30:00. While it runs, the line Ends at gives the clock time the period finishes.

Is this class timer right for kids who cannot read digits yet?

It can be. Under More options, Disc only hides the countdown digits and leaves a disc that empties as the time goes. The large visual timer opens that way, with nothing to switch.
