This one hour timer online opens at 1 h 00 min: 60 minutes, or 3600 seconds. It is the one length where the disc reads like a clock face: a quarter of it is 15 minutes.

A 60 minute timer that matches the wall clock
A minute hand goes round once an hour, so this disc empties at the hand's own 6 degrees a minute. Start on the hour and the edge of the color points where the minute hand does. Four 15 minute stations changes at each quarter.
Why the hour countdown shows 1 h 00 min, not 60:00
The page counts whole minutes, so the number changes once a minute and gives the room less to watch. Numbers round up: 30 min means 29 to 30 minutes are left. The last minute counts in seconds.
Chime at halfway, under More options, rings as the edge points straight down, where a clock's 6 sits.
For the last 5 minutes the disc of this 60 minute visual timer changes color inside a dashed ring.
Questions and answers
How do I set a timer for 1 hour?
It is set when the page opens, so one press of Start with music begins it. A line under the digits then reads Ends at and the clock time an hour from now, so the room knows when the 60 minute countdown finishes.
Will a 1 hour alarm ring at the end?
If you choose one. Under More options, When the time is up lists Soft chime, Hand bell and Wood block, and Test sound plays your pick. Otherwise the hour ends quietly: the music stops and the screen reads Time is up.
What does the 1 hour timer with music sound like?
Drift, the track it opens on, is slow chords with no tune to repeat: the notes are made in the browser as they play. Choose No music in the Music list for a silent hour, and the button reads Start the timer.
Can I use it to time a mock exam?
For a practice paper in your own room, yes: Practice paper with checking time gives 5 minutes to read, 45 to answer and 10 to check. For an official exam, follow the clock and rules of whoever sets it.
How do I reset the 1 hr timer for the next class?
Press Pause, then Reset, or R on a keyboard. It asks once more before it clears a countdown. The timer returns to 1 h 00 min with the same plan chosen; after the end the main button reads Start again.

Four 15 minute stationsFour groups, four stations, a quarter of an hour at each: 4 x 15 = 60. Every change falls on a quarter of the disc, the way quarter past, half past and quarter to fall on a clock. A cue warns one minute before each change. Cues: 46:00 One minute left at this station; 45:00 Rotate to station 2; 31:00 One minute left at this station; 30:00 Rotate to station 3; 16:00 One minute left at this station; 15:00 Rotate to station 4; 1:00 Last minute. Tidy your station.
Four team round robinFour teams need 3 rounds for every team to meet every other. Each round is 15 minutes of play and 5 to report the score and change courts: 3 x (15 + 5) = 60. Cues: 42:00 Two minutes, then move on; 40:00 Move to rotation 2; 22:00 Two minutes, then move on; 20:00 Move to rotation 3; 2:00 Two minutes. Tidy up where you are.
Twelve 5 minute talksTwelve speakers get 5 minutes each, questions included: 12 x 5 = 60. A clock face has twelve numbers 5 minutes apart, so each talk ends as the edge of the disc reaches the place of the next number. Eleven cues call speakers 2 to 12. Cues: 55:00 Speaker 2 of 12; 50:00 Speaker 3 of 12; 45:00 Speaker 4 of 12; 40:00 Speaker 5 of 12; 35:00 Speaker 6 of 12; 30:00 Speaker 7 of 12; 25:00 Speaker 8 of 12; 20:00 Speaker 9 of 12; 15:00 Speaker 10 of 12; 10:00 Speaker 11 of 12; 5:00 Speaker 12 of 12.

How this list was compiled: Own work, written on 2026-09-19 from common classroom practice. Each plan is one way to spend exactly 60 minutes (3,600 seconds) with a class, a club, a staff team or one pupil, and each cue is given as the seconds left when it appears. One outside fact stands behind the page this dataset serves and was checked on 2026-09-19: the long minute hand of a clock makes one revolution every hour (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clock_face), so it covers 360 / 60 = 6 degrees a minute, the same as a disc that stands for 60 minutes. Every split was added up twice. Lesson in three parts: 10 + 40 + 10 = 60, cues at 3,600 - 600 = 3,000 and at 600. Science lab hour: 10 + 35 + 15 = 60, cues at 3,000 and 3,000 - 2,100 = 900. PE lesson with changing time: 8 + 7 + 35 + 10 = 60, cues at 3,600 - 480 = 3,120, 3,120 - 420 = 2,700 and 2,700 - 2,100 = 600. Clay hour with clean-up: 5 + 40 + 15 = 60, cues at 3,300 and 3,300 - 2,400 = 900. Four 15 minute stations: 4 x 15 = 60, changes at 2,700, 1,800 and 900. Three 20 minute rotations: 3 x 20 = 60, changes at 2,400 and 1,200. Two groups swap at half time: 30 + 30 = 60. Twelve 5 minute talks: 12 x 5 = 60, a change every 300 seconds from 3,300 down to 300, which is 11 changes. Four team round robin: 4 teams need 3 rounds for every team to meet every other, and 3 x (15 + 5) = 60, so rounds end at 2,700, 1,500 and 300 and start at 3,600, 2,400 and 1,200. Practice paper with checking time: 5 + 45 + 10 = 60, cues at 3,300 and 600. Sixty questions, a minute each: 60 x 1 = 60, so questions 15, 30 and 45 fall at 2,700, 1,800 and 900 seconds left. Study hour in three 20s: 20 + 20 + 20 = 60. One hour essay: 10 + 45 + 5 = 60, cues at 3,000 and 300. Test, then mark it together: 40 + 20 = 60, cue at 3,600 - 2,400 = 1,200. Coding club session: 5 + 45 + 10 = 60. Five item staff meeting: 5 x 12 = 60, a new item every 720 seconds at 2,880, 2,160, 1,440 and 720. One to one tutoring hour: 10 + 20 + 20 + 10 = 60, cues at 3,000, 1,800 and 600. Guest speaker hour: 5 + 35 + 15 + 5 = 60, cues at 3,300, 1,200 and 300.
