Questions and answers

What grammar do kindergartners learn?

The Common Core language standards for kindergarten name frequent nouns and verbs (L.K.1b), plurals with s or es (L.K.1c), question words (L.K.1d), prepositions such as to, from, in and on (L.K.1e), capitals for the first word and I (L.K.2a) and end punctuation (L.K.2b).

Can a kindergartner read these sentences alone?

Some can. Every sentence is six words or fewer and most words are short ones such as pup, hen and sled, but the labels question mark and exclamation point are long. The grade is our suggestion.

How do I print only end marks, or only capitals?

Open Set and pick the skill, for example End marks. All eight sentences then come from that set. Choosing All of them brings back the mixed sheet.

Are these free printable grammar worksheets for kindergarten?

Yes. Every sheet is free to print, with no sign-up, and a teacher may print a class set. To print without the key, open More options and uncheck Add an answer key as the last page.
