The comma between adjectives follows the test described in Wikipedia's article Comma (two adjectives that could be joined by and, or swapped, take a comma), read 2026-10-02. How it works

These English grammar worksheets for grade 7 review five things: phrase or clause, the four sentence structures, joining words such as although and unless, misplaced modifiers, and the comma between two adjectives.

Read the full guide

Five sets under Set

Phrase or clause: the words in brackets. Simple, compound, complex: also compound-complex. Although, because, unless, so: the one that makes sense. Misplaced modifiers: I saw a deer driving to school is misplaced. Comma between adjectives: a long, cold voyage, but a bright red canoe.

What the page leaves out

The sheets are grammar and usage only, with no reading passages. A sheet opens as a mix of the five sets, and the answer key prints as the last page.

  • Two adjectives take a comma if and could stand between them: a steep and rocky trail.
