Letters by shape, then words, then sentences
The letter rows set letters that are made the same way side by side: l i l i, g q g q, b p b p. Kindergartners print many upper- and lowercase letters in the Common Core language standards. The three-word sentences, such as We can hum., add that grade's capital on the first word and its end mark.
Two lines fill a page at 26 mm
Tall letters are 26 mm, small letters stop at the dashed line about 17 mm up, and rows sit about 40 mm apart. A printed page holds 6 rows: 2 lines, each traced twice above an empty row. A line that runs onto a second row takes the page to itself.
- For a name, type it in the box: it prints at 26 mm to trace, like any other line.
- Pin pan and hot hut differ only in the middle letter.
