One lesson, nine headings

Press Print the lesson plan. Standard and I can take one line each. Mini-lesson has three lines; Guided practice, Independent work or centers, and Small-group notes have two. Closing and Check for understanding finish the page.

A day, small groups, a read-aloud

The day by subject has rows for Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social studies. The small-group table gives the whole class and three groups a row each. The read-aloud plan has a Book line and a block for stops and questions.

  • The short form drops to five headings, with six lines under Lesson.
  • Two subjects to a page prints two half-page plans to cut apart.

Questions and answers

What goes in an elementary school lesson plan template?

This one asks for the standard, an I can statement, the materials, a mini-lesson, guided practice, independent work or centers, notes on small groups, a closing and a check for understanding.

Which grades is it for?

Grades 1 to 5 is our suggestion. The Grade line is blank and no sheet prints a grade, so it suits any class where one teacher has the students for most subjects.

What is an I can line?

It is the lesson's goal written from the student's side, such as I can read a map key. The sample day by subject shows one for each of five subjects.

Is there a version with open boxes?

Yes. Six open boxes has no ruled lines, and six ruled boxes has a short prompt under each heading.
