How it works
This color by number submarine set opens on a Submarine with a periscope. Then: a research sub, a periscope above the waves, a porthole view, and submarines at the surface, under ice, over a reef and in the deep sea.

Seven submarines, seven colors
Each submarine is a different color: red with a periscope, a yellow research sub, green under the waves, black at the surface, purple under the ice, orange over the reef and blue in the deep sea. The eighth sheet, View from a porthole, looks out of one.
Periscope up, periscope down
Two sheets are named for the periscope: the red submarine raises one, and on Periscope above the waves it is all that shows of the green submarine. When it is idle, the periscope of a submarine pulls back into the hull.
- Blue and yellow are in all 8 easy keys.
- The easy Submarine under the ice takes 3 crayons, the fewest: blue, purple and yellow.
Questions and answers
Which submarine sheet is the quickest to color?
Periscope above the waves: 90 squares on the easy 12 by 12 grid, because the sky stays white. The Submarine under the ice is next at 105. The other six color 141 to 143 squares.
Is the answer key printed with each submarine?
Yes, as the finished picture in color on page 2; the sheet itself fits one Letter or A4 page. Open More options and uncheck Answer key on page 2 to leave it out.
Why do some squares have no number?
They stay white. Bubbles, glints on the windows, the sky over the periscope and the sheet of ice are paper. Check Put 0 in the white squares in More options to print a 0 in each.
