Why the detailed wings have gray lines
Bats are the only mammals that truly fly, on wings of thin skin stretched over long finger bones. The detailed Bat with spread wings draws those bones in gray: open More options and choose Detailed 24 by 24 to print it.
Eight bat color by number pages, 3 to 5 crayons
Black is in all 8 easy keys, and the Three bats at sunset use the most of it: 54 squares. Five sheets color all 144 squares; the Row of sleeping bats takes only 82, with 3 crayons.
- On the Bat face only the two teeth stay white: 142 of its 144 easy squares get a color.
- The easy Bat and a moth has a single orange square: the body of the moth.
Questions and answers
Which crayons does the bat color by number need?
Five for the Bat with spread wings, numbered 1 to 5: blue for the sky, black for the wings, brown for the body, yellow for the eyes and stars, and orange for the nose and feet. All five are in a basic box of 8.
Is there a bat hanging upside down to color?
Yes, on three sheets: the Hanging bat on a branch, the Bat in a cave and the Row of sleeping bats.
Are the bat sheets only for Halloween?
No. Nothing on them says Halloween: there is no pumpkin, no witch and no scary face, so they also fit a week on bats or night animals. The Halloween set has a ghost, a spider and a black cat.
