Six sets, from regular -ar verbs to the preterite

Show only deals one set. Three hold regular verbs in -ar, -er and -ir. The stem change set has six verbs such as pensar, where e becomes ie except with nosotros and vosotros. The irregular set has twelve, from ser and estar to ver. The preterite set asks for yo and él: hablé, habló.

The nosotros form tells the three regular groups apart: hablamos, comemos, vivimos.
Ser and ir share one preterite: fui is both I was and I went. The rest of the sentence tells which.
Irregular preterites such as tuve, hizo and dijo carry no accent mark. Regular ones do: hablé, comió.

Questions and answers

Which Spanish verbs should I learn first?

Start with ser, estar, tener and ir, then one regular model from each group: hablar, comer and vivir. This deck adds 23 more everyday verbs. The choice of 30 is our own and follows no textbook.

Do I have to type the accent marks?

No. Quiz mode ignores accent marks, so hable passes for hablé. It also cannot tell hablo, I speak, from habló, he spoke, so check the accent on the card.

Can I answer with the pronoun?

Yes. Yo hablo and hablo are both marked right. On él cards, ella and usted are accepted too, and on ellos cards, ellas and ustedes, because they take the same verb form.
