How this list was compiled: Own list of Spanish shape words, chosen for this site on 2026-10-11, in three sets of twelve. The spelling, accent marks, gender and geometry senses of every word were read that day in the Diccionario de la lengua española of the Real Academia Española (https://dle.rae.es/cuadrado, the same address pattern for each word), in the copies of those pages kept at web.archive.org, and the English meaning in the word's Spanish entry at Wiktionary (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/cuadrado, the same pattern). Octágono points to octógono in both. The note after each meaning is our own wording of the first dictionary's definition. That a rhombus is also called a diamond, said in an answer on the page, is from the Wikipedia article Rhombus (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhombus). Licence: own work
