How it works
Each sheet takes one word: trace it, write it, then cut out the tiles and glue them in order. Our words keep letter teams, such as ai in said, on one tile. Any other word is cut letter by letter.

Type the word, then print
The sheet opens on said. Type any word into Your own word and the sheet changes to it. One of our words, listed under the tool, keeps its letter team on one tile. Press Print worksheet; the answer key, with the tiles glued in order, prints last.
Why some tiles hold two letters
In said the letters ai make one sound together, so they share a tile: s, ai, d. The same goes for th in they, oo in look and ow in down. Gluing a team as one piece shows that its letters belong together.
- Cut along the long dashed line first, then snip the tiles apart.
- Have the child say each sound while gluing its tile down.
- No glue? Lay the tiles in the boxes, check them, and keep them in an envelope.
Questions and answers
Which sight words have letter-team tiles?
Our own pick: all, day, down, each, for, good, her, look, now, out, play, said, saw, see, she, that, the, then, they, this, what, when, with and you. Type one to get its sheet. Any other word is cut into single letters.
Can I use the sheet for sight word stamping?
Yes. Leave the tiles uncut and have the child stamp the word with letter stamps on the empty writing row or in the boxes. A typed word that is not one of ours gets one box for each letter.
Do the sheets come with an answer key?
Yes. The key prints as the last page and shows the tiles glued in the right order. To leave it off, untick Add an answer key as the last page under More options.
