How to make a dinosaur math worksheet
The page opens on Grade 1: dinosaur dig addition stories within 20, with 8 bones dug up on Monday and 6 on Tuesday. The Sheet type menu lists each theme by grade. Choose 4, 6 or 8 under Problems, press Make a new sheet, then Print. The answer key follows on its own page.
The other four themes
The ice cream math worksheets melt 9 scoops down to 5 and count ice cream truck coins. The unicorn math worksheets tie ribbons and fill a sticker book. The ocean math worksheets hatch 36 of 84 sea turtle eggs. The animal math worksheets add hens, ducks and geese.
- Let the child pick the theme while you pick the grade. Every theme has sheets for kindergarten, grade 1 and grade 2.
- Talk dinosaurs after the sheet: Triceratops means three-horned face, and Stegosaurus carried four spikes near the end of its tail.
Questions and answers
Is there a dinosaur math worksheet for kindergarten?
Yes, two. Long-neck lunch counts two rows of leaves, and the dinosaur egg sheet adds within 10: one nest holds 5 eggs and another holds 3. The picture sheet draws leaves, because the tool has no dinosaur pictures yet.
How many horns did Triceratops have?
Three: one on the snout and one above each eye. The stories on the sheets use made-up counts of toys, eggs and fossils, so the numbers can change on every sheet.
How many arms does an octopus have?
Eight, and it has three hearts. Most starfish have five arms, an insect has six legs and a spider has eight. That makes a quick counting talk before an ocean or animal sheet.
Why do these sheets stop at grade 2?
The themes suit young children, so the sheets cover counting, adding and taking away within 10, 20 and 100, and coins to 99¢. The holiday math sets on this site run to grade 5.
