A week on one page
Press Print the lesson plan. Write each group's name and students in the first column, then a few words under each day the group meets. The same week comes with 3, 5 or 6 rows, and it works for any subject.
One group, math groups and intervention
For a single meeting, the one-group sheet has Skill, Materials and Steps lines and a row for a note on each student. The math sheet plans three groups on one page, and the tracker gives an intervention group a check column for each of six weeks.
- Not every group meets every day: the sample marks those boxes On their own.
- The one-group sheet keeps Note from today beside Next time, so the next meeting starts from the note.
Questions and answers
What goes in a small group lesson plan?
On the week sheet: who is in each group and what the group does on each day it meets. The one-group sheet adds the skill, materials, steps and a note on each student.
Is the small group lesson plan template free?
Yes. All of the sheets print at no charge, on Letter or A4, and are written on by hand once printed.
Does it work for reading groups and math groups?
Yes. Subject is a blank line on the week sheets, and one sheet is laid out for math groups. A plan for one guided reading group's lesson is its own page in the full list of lesson plan templates.
How many groups fit on a page?
Three to six, or more. Four is the opening sheet: Add a group under it adds a row, and the × on a row takes one off. Fewer groups give taller rows.
