How it works
This after school program lesson plan template opens on one activity: lines for Activity, Date, Age group, Group size, Time and Space, then boxes for Goal, Materials, Set-up, Steps, Wrap-up, and changes for younger and older children.

Plan one activity
Press Print the lesson plan. Fill in who the activity is for and where it happens, then what to set out before the children arrive. The last box holds a simpler version and a harder one, for a room of mixed ages.
A week or a month in blocks
An afternoon here runs in blocks, not lessons. The week sheets put Arrival and snack, Homework help, Enrichment, Active play and Pick-up down the side with Monday to Friday across, and the month sheet gives each week one line of themes.
- Run different blocks? The blank week has five empty rows under a Block heading.
- The one-afternoon sheet adds Time, Space and Who leads beside each block.
Questions and answers
What is in an after-school lesson plan?
Here, an activity plan (goal, materials, set-up, steps, wrap-up, changes by age) and a schedule in blocks. The sample is a filled-in week with a kite project in the Enrichment row.
Is there a lesson plan template for an after school program week?
Yes. Three blank week sheets print sideways with Monday to Friday across: one with five named blocks, one with a Time column added, and one with the rows left empty.
Does it follow a licensing form?
No. These are our own planning sheets. They copy no agency's or funder's form, and Group size, Time and Space are blanks.
Can I plan clubs or enrichment classes?
Yes. The enrichment sheet lists six activities for the week with Day, Space, Leader, Group size and Materials columns.
