One day, three reads or a poem
One sheet plans a single day on ruled lines. Another sets a purpose and stops for a first, second and third read. The poem of the week plan runs Monday to Friday with a box to check each day.
- Stopping points lists ten places in the text with what you will point to or ask.
- Shared reading texts for five weeks keeps the book, the focus and where the copy is.
Questions and answers
What is shared reading?
The teacher and a group of children read one enlarged text together, such as a big book or a poem on chart paper, and reread it. The teacher shows how a skilled reader works.
Is there a shared reading lesson plan template for kindergarten?
Yes. The kindergarten week has Day 1 to Day 5 across and rows for Read together, Print concept, Letters and sounds, Word to find, and Respond. Kindergarten is our suggestion for that sheet.
Is there a shared reading lesson plan template PDF?
Yes. Print the sheet you want and, for the printer, select Save as PDF. Do the same for each further sheet.
Does the page name books or poems?
No. The line or column for the text is empty on every blank form. The sample week uses a class poem about rain on chart paper and names no title or author.
