Desk, locker, cafeteria
The easy list is short words: Pen, Ruler, Crayon, Glue. Medium, the opening sheet, holds Eraser, Notebook, Hallway and Locker. The hard list is long words: Classroom, Principal, Cafeteria, Attendance.
A first-week sheet
Put it on desks while you take attendance and sort supplies. Each press of New scramble jumbles Eraser and the rest a new way, so every table can get a different sheet.
- Afterward, pupils circle every answer they can see from their seat: a quick tour of a new room.

Is this a back to school word scramble with answers?
Yes. The key prints on its own page after the puzzle. To print the puzzle alone, untick Print the answer key under More options.
Which school words are in the lists?
Thirty in three lists: Easy has Desk, Class, Recess and Quiz; Medium has Pencil, Folder, Scissors and Homework; Hard has Calculator, Highlighter, School bus and Dictionary.
How do I use it on the first day?
Put a sheet on every desk before pupils arrive. It gives them something to start while you greet families, and the supply words open a talk about where things are kept.
Can I add my pupils' names to the sheet?
Yes, first names work well in week one. Type them over the words on the sheet, or in its last line. Names stay in this browser. A share link carries the list, so keep names out of links.
