Three levels, from pie to scrumptious
Level 1 is for kindergarten and first grade: short words (yam, carve, serve) and words around the table (turkey, guests, gobble). Level 2, about second to fourth grade, has compound words (drumstick, tablecloth), the meal (stuffing, cranberries) and family and football (relatives, sidelines). Level 3, fifth grade and up, has herbs (thyme, rosemary), giving thanks (abundance, hospitality) and the day itself (volunteer, preparation). The grades are only our suggestion.
Two words with a capital
November is in List 5 and Thanksgiving in List 7. The Capitals count box starts checked, so november with a small n is marked wrong; uncheck it under Voice, speed and marking to let small letters pass.
- Thyme sounds like time; the h is silent.
- Cranberries changes the y of cranberry to i before es.
