How it works
This parent conference exit ticket prints four to a page. Before leaving, a parent writes one thing they learned tonight, something they still want to ask and the best way to reach them, then hands the slip to the teacher.

Exit tickets for parent conference night
For a conference that runs out of time, the shortest slip prints six to a page: a question we did not get to and a Reach me at line. Another slip has four sentences with boxes for Yes and Not yet.
Slips that plan a next step
One slip asks what the family will try at home, what the school could try and a good time to check in again. The 3-2-1 slip asks for 3 strengths, 2 things to work on and 1 thing to do this week.
Student-led conferences
After a conference the student ran, the parent's slip asks what the child showed them, a goal they set together and how they will help at home. One more slip is the student's own.
- The last sheet is a sample filled in by a made-up parent.
Questions and answers
What do you put on a parent exit ticket at a teacher conference?
Two or three short prompts a parent can answer standing up: something they learned, a question left over and how they like to be reached. Leave grades and private details off the slip.
Does the slip ask parents for a phone number or an email?
No. It prints one open line, The best way to reach me, and the parent writes what they choose. The slips are paper: nothing a parent writes is collected by this page.
Can I ask parents for feedback on the conference itself?
Yes. The feedback slip asks what helped most tonight and what the parent would change about conferences. It has no name line, so it can be handed in unsigned.
