A giraffe color by number sheet in yellow and brown
Every giraffe here is yellow with brown patches. The Patch of giraffe pattern is nothing else: 85 brown squares and 59 yellow on the easy grid, so it takes 2 crayons. The easy Standing giraffe takes 5: blue for the sky, brown, yellow, black and green.
What a giraffe eats
Giraffes eat mainly the leaves of acacia trees, at heights most other plant-eaters on the ground cannot reach. The Giraffe eating leaves sheet has the head up among green leaves, and the Acacia tree is drawn with a wide flat crown on a thin trunk. Choose Detailed 24 by 24 under Size for light green leaves and a pink tongue.
- Seven of the eight easy sheets leave no square white: all 144 get a color.
- The easy Giraffe drinking is the one with white squares: 98 to color, 46 left empty.
Questions and answers
What colors is a giraffe on these sheets?
Yellow with brown patches, black eyes and hooves and brown horns, which are called ossicones. The detailed grids add a light blue sky, pink inside the ears and more patches.
Is the giraffe the tallest animal?
Yes. Giraffes are the tallest living land animals. The Standing giraffe uses the whole height of the grid, from its horns in the top row to its hooves in the bottom row.
Why are the giraffe's legs apart on the drinking sheet?
To reach down to drink, a giraffe bends its knees or spreads its front legs. The sheet shows it from the front, with its legs wide apart and its head lowered to blue water.
