Read the full guide

The hunt, the basket, the bunny

The easy list is short words: Bunny, Chick, Hide, Find. Medium, the opening sheet, holds Egg hunt, Wicker, Burrow and Tiptoe. The hard list reaches Speckled, Scavenger and Cottontail. To change lists, pick one under Start from a list.

Before or after the hunt

Hand it out while the eggs are being hidden, or use it to settle a class afterward. Each press of New scramble deals the letters again, so neighbors need not share a sheet.

  • Hide, Hidden and Find tell the story of the hunt: ask pupils to use all three in one sentence.
  • Egg hunt and Plastic eggs are two words each: each word is mixed on its own, so the gap stays put.

Questions and answers

Is there an Easter word scramble with answers?

Yes. The answer key prints on a second page after the sheet. To print the puzzle alone, switch off Print the answer key under More options, below the sheet.

Does the list have church words?

No. It is the egg hunt, the basket and spring animals, so one sheet can go to a whole class. There is no religious word on any of its lists.

How is this different from the spring word puzzles?

That page holds rain, garden and small-creature words. This list is the hunt and the basket, and repeats no word from it.

What grades is it for?

The easy list (Bunny, Yolk, Prize) suits kindergarten and grade 1 with hints on. Medium suits grades 2 and 3, and the hard list (Speckled, Footprints) suits grade 4 and up.
