A lesson plan template for observation
Formal lesson plan for an observation has lines for the observer, the date and time and the class, then where the lesson sits in the unit and what you would like the observer to watch. The sheet with an Observer's notes column is the one to hand over: your plan on the left, room for their notes beside each part.
A student teaching lesson plan template
The student teaching sheet names the student teacher and the classroom teacher and ends with two blocks, the classroom teacher's notes and your own reflection. Student teaching week has a row for the lessons you teach and one for the lessons you watch.
- Planning the questions first? Question plan has 8 numbered rows, each with a strong answer to listen for.
- The sample is a made-up 45 minute math lesson on measuring to the nearest inch, with a question beside each part.
- Before and after the observation has six boxes for your notes on the talk before the lesson and the one after it.
Questions and answers
Is this a formal lesson plan template?
Yes. A lesson plan sets out the goal, how the goal will be reached and a way of measuring how well it was reached. The opening sheet has a line or a column for each, and the sample shows them filled in.
Is there a formal observation lesson plan template?
Yes. Formal lesson plan for an observation is one page of ruled blocks under a printed title. It is our own layout, so ask whether your school or program wants its own form before you rely on it.
Is there a detailed lesson plan template PDF?
Yes. Each sheet saves as its own PDF from the print window, on Letter or A4, so your plan and the observer's copy are two files.
Is there a detailed weekly lesson plan template?
Yes. Detailed week for one subject is a sideways page with Monday to Friday across and five rows, from the objective to the check for understanding, with a row for the questions you will ask each day.
