How it works
On this task card template the two boxes of every card are headed No. and Task. Either heading can be typed over, so Task can become Question or Problem, and the new word prints on all eight cards.

A blank task card template to type on
Press a box on a card and type: the number in the narrow box, the task in the wide one. Each card keeps its own words. Or print the page as it is and write on the cards by hand. Print the task cards gives one Letter or A4 page.
Larger cards
The same card prints six or four to a page for a longer task, and two to a page for a card that stands at a station. A lined card has ruled lines in place of the boxes, to write on by hand.
- Print on card stock so the cards last past one lesson.
Questions and answers
How many task cards fit on a page?
Eight on the opening sheet, in two columns of four. As a task cards template for a set of 24, print the page three times and number the cards 1 to 24.
What do I write on a task card?
One task a card: a problem to solve, a question about a text, a word to define or a prompt to write about. Number each card so students can record which ones they have done.
Is there a task card recording sheet?
Yes. It gives each student Name and Date lines and sixteen numbered lines. Students write their answers there, not on the cards, so one set of cards serves the whole class.
