How it works
These kindergarten flash cards are small tasks for an adult to read aloud: count on, one more, which is more, make 10, the next letter, the first sound. The answer is on the back.

Ten sets: seven with numbers, three with letters
Show only deals one set; the page opens on What comes next. That set, One more, one less, More or less and Teen numbers hold 18 cards each. Make 10 has 11, and Add within 5 and Take away within 5 have 20 each. Next letter has 24, Small letters 26 and First sounds 22.
Print one set
Pick a set, turn a card, then press the print button under the card: 12 cards fill a sheet of Letter or A4, so Make 10 takes one sheet and most sets two. Print double-sided and flip on the long edge; the backs are mirrored, so each answer lands behind its task.
- No typing is needed: the page opens in flip mode, so a child answers aloud and you turn the card.
- For First sounds, say the word and ask for its first sound, such as sss for sock, not the letter name.
- Cards that name a numeral or a letter are separate decks: number flashcards and alphabet flashcards.
Questions and answers
What do these kindergarten flash cards practice?
Ten small skills: counting on to 20, one more and one less, comparing two numbers up to 10, teen numbers as ten and some more, partners of 10, adding and taking away within 5, letter order, small letters and first sounds.
Is this deck matched to a kindergarten curriculum?
No. Kindergarten is our suggestion for the age the tasks suit. The deck follows no curriculum and no published word list, and it holds no sight words.
Can my child type the answers?
Yes. Choose Quiz and type the number or the letter, and the page marks it. Small letters is a writing task: the quiz cannot tell g from G, so check that set on paper.
How do I go back over the cards my child missed?
Press Missed it when an answer is wrong. The card joins the Missed pile, and you can deal or print that pile alone.
