How it works

Fire safety, ships, pumpkins
The easy list is short words: Patch, Drill, Alarm, Menu. Medium, the opening sheet, holds Hydrant, Compass, Explorer and Corn maze. The hard list reaches Smoke detector and Fire prevention, at 13 and 14 letters.
Not the Halloween list
Ghosts and costumes have a page of their own, so this sheet stays with the rest of the month. Use it in Fire Prevention Week, proclaimed each October, beside the class fire drill. Each press of New scramble deals the letters again.
- Hydrant, Alarm, Drill and Escape plan make a fire safety set: pupils can draw their own way out of the classroom.
- Navigator hides the word gator at its end: a hint for pupils stuck on nine letters.
