How it works
These fraction division and multiplication worksheets divide a fraction by a fraction, with two multiplying sheets beside them. Every division is solved by flipping the divisor and multiplying, and the key on page 2 shows each step.

Flip the divisor, then multiply
2/3 ÷ 3/4 becomes 2/3 × 4/3 = 8/9. Start with Divide unit fractions: 1/2 ÷ 1/4, where 2 quarters in a half checks the rule. Divide by a unit fraction: 3/4 ÷ 1/8 shows why the answer can be larger than either fraction.
Cancel after the flip
Cancel only once the divisor is flipped: 2/3 ÷ 4/5 is 2/3 × 5/4, and the 2 and 4 share a 2. Flip, then cancel both pairs keeps the numbers small, and the mixed sheet asks whether canceling applies at all.
- A pupil who flips the first fraction instead of the second gets the reciprocal of the right answer: 9/8 for 8/9.
