Six lists, from the sink to the laundry

Under Start from a list: Hand Washing, Teeth and Mouth, Bath and Shower, Hair, Skin and Nails, Clean Clothes, and Germs and Clean Habits. Teeth and Mouth has Floss, Mouthwash and Chew stick, the frayed twig that came before the toothbrush. Bath and Shower has Loofah and Washcloth, and Clean Clothes has Detergent, Hamper and Lint.

Words only

The lists name things and actions: Scalp, Cuticle, Bacteria, Microbe, Routine. No illness or medicine is an entry, and each clue defines its word without telling anyone what to do.

  • A Loofah is no sea creature: the bath scrubber is the dried inside of a gourd.
  • Washing machine, at 14 letters, is the longest entry and is hidden as WASHINGMACHINE.
