How it works
This personal word wall is a blank page with a Name line and a row for every letter, Aa to Zz. The pupil writes each new word beside its first letter. Other sheets spread the alphabet over two or four pages.

Print it, then write the words in
Press Print word wall. The page has one row a letter and nothing printed in the boxes: the pupil writes each word beside its first letter. For taller rows, pick A to M in the Sheet menu and print it, then do the same for N to Z.
Two to a page, for a notebook
The two-to-a-page sheet prints two narrow A to Z lists with a cut line between them, a portable word wall that slips inside a notebook. The four sideways pages put the letters across the top, with open columns for longer lists.
- As an individual word wall for spelling, print the two-column sheet: a word is written again under Words I can spell once it is known.
- Words can go on in pencil first, so a misspelling is fixed before it is copied from.
Questions and answers
What is a personal word wall?
A class word wall is a collection of words shown in large letters on a classroom wall, often in alphabetical order. A personal one is the same idea on a sheet that one pupil keeps and adds to.
Which words go on it?
Whichever words the pupil needs: a word asked for during writing, a word from the class wall, a friend's name. The sheets are blank, so no word list is chosen for you.
Does it fit on one page?
Yes. All 26 letters fit on one Letter or A4 page. The A to M and N to Z sheets are a pair with taller rows, and the sheets with letters across the top are a set of four.
Can I save the word wall as a PDF?
Press the print button and choose Save as PDF as the printer. The file holds the sheet that is on screen, on Letter or A4.
