A fox color by number sheet for each pose

The easy Red fox stands side-on: 31 orange squares, 10 black for its ear tips, eye, nose and legs, and 6 left white for its chest, muzzle and tail tip, on 97 squares of green. The Sleeping fox is the same animal curled into a ball, with 69 orange squares.

Two crayons for the Arctic fox

The easy Arctic fox is the shortest sheet: 62 blue squares for the sky and 4 black for its eyes and nose. The fox itself is white paper. Choose Detailed 24 by 24 under Size for a yellow moon, pink ears and gray shading.

  • The easy Bushy tail also takes 2 crayons, green and orange: its tip stays white.
  • The Fox kit is the brown one. Young foxes are called kits, cubs or pups.

Questions and answers

What colors is a red fox?

Orange on these sheets, with black ear tips and black legs, and white on the chest, the muzzle and the tip of the tail. A red fox has black paws, and the backs of its ears are often black.

Why is the Arctic fox white?

Its thick fur hides it against the snow in winter. On the sheet the fox is left as white paper and you color the blue sky around it.

Does the fox color by number printable come with an answer key?

Yes. The colored answer key prints as page 2 after the sheet, unless you uncheck Answer key on page 2 under More options.

How this list was compiled: Our own pixel pictures, drawn square by square for this site on 12 by 12 and 24 by 24 grids in October 2026. Nothing is traced, scanned or copied from clip art, no picture shows a brand or a logo, and none shows a character from a film, show, book or game. The facts about the red fox, the Arctic fox, fox tails and young foxes were checked against Wikipedia in October 2026 (text under CC BY-SA 4.0, read for the facts and not copied); the other descriptions say only what each drawing shows. The color and square counts were counted from the finished grids. Licence: own work
