A Paris list, a ballet list and eight more
Paris has its own list of 28 sights, from the Louvre and Notre-Dame to Arrondissement. French Music and Ballet holds the steps a dance class says in French: Plié means bent. The other eight are French Cities, Regions of France, Map of France, French Landmarks, Famous French People, French Art, French Food, and French History and Symbols.
Regions of today and of history
Regions of France lists 12 of the 18 regions of today, such as Occitania and Grand Est, beside historic names such as Gascony, Alsace and Savoy, and each clue says which. Tick Show clues, not words, and the sheet is a quiz: "Scholar who worked out how to read Egyptian hieroglyphs in 1822" is Champollion.
- Accents, hyphens and spaces drop out of the grid: Crêpe hides as CREPE and Eiffel Tower as EIFFELTOWER. Tell pupils first.
- Hard France has 161 long words that crowd a 15 by 15 grid: the grid grows by itself when a word finds no room.
- With a dance or music class, pick French Music and Ballet: Plié, Tutu, Pirouette and Arabesque sit beside composers such as Debussy and Ravel.
