Read the clue, not the job

Press Call the game, then Call the next one. Read only the clue: "I cut and style hair and trim or shave beards." Pupils cover Barber. Print the call sheet gives you every job with its clue.

Sort the winning card

The list under the tool files each job in its cluster. When someone calls bingo, ask which cluster each covered job belongs to before you check the card.

Questions and answers

How do you play career bingo?

Each pupil gets a different card of 24 jobs around a free center. You read a clue, such as "I put in and repair the wiring in buildings", and pupils cover Electrician. A full row, column or diagonal wins.

Why is Veterinarian under Agriculture and not Healthcare?

The career clusters sort jobs by industry, and veterinary science is taught in the Agriculture cluster, under Animal Systems. Nurse, Dentist and Barber sit in Healthcare and Human Services; Welder sits in Construction, with Carpenter and Electrician.

Do the clues give pay or training?

No. Each clue says what the job does and stops there, so nothing goes out of date. Pay, schooling and job outlook for each job are in the Occupational Outlook Handbook at bls.gov/ooh.
