How it works
This baseball word scramble holds 30 baseball words: the diamond, the players, the pitches and the plays. Each word prints jumbled with a hint, and the answer key prints on its own page.

Diamond, dugout and pitches
The easy list is the basics: Base, Bunt, Mitt, Out. Medium, the opening sheet, holds Dugout, Bullpen, Inning and Home run. The hard list is the pitches and big plays: Curveball, Knuckleball, Grand slam.
Spring season or a rainout
Use a sheet in a spring baseball unit, at a Little League party or on a rainout. Each press of New scramble deals the letters again, so the whole team gets different sheets.
- Home run and Grand slam are two words each: the answer line keeps the space.
Questions and answers
What age is this baseball word scramble for?
The easy list of 3- to 5-letter words suits grades 1 and 2. Medium suits grades 3 and 4, and the hard list, with Doubleheader at 12 letters, suits grade 5 and up.
How many innings and outs does baseball have?
A game is usually nine innings, and a team bats until the other side records three outs. Inning and Out are both on the lists.
Does each scramble have one answer?
Yes. Umpire (impure), Infield (infidel) and Bat (tab) were left out because their letters spell a second word.
Is there an answer key?
Yes. Print gives the scramble sheet first, then the answer key on its own page, so you can hand the sheets out in the dugout and keep the answers.
