7 times table facts

7 times table up to × 12.

How it works

This 7 multiplication chart lists the 7 times table from 7 × 1 = 7 to 7 × 12 = 84, or to 7 × 20 = 140 with Go up to × 20. No digit trick covers the 7s, so each fact shows a route from an easier one.

Split 7 into 5 and 2

7 is 5 and 2, so 7 × 6 becomes 5 × 6 = 30 and 2 × 6 = 12, and 30 + 12 = 42. The same split reaches 7 × 8 as 40 + 16 = 56. It leans only on the 2s and the 5s. The list All 20 facts, further down, gives each fact its own route.

Hide more as the routes get quicker

No pattern fills a gap in the 7s, so every box is a fair test. Press New quiz to hide 6 of the 12 answers. Under How much to hide, 25% hides 3 and 75% hides 9: step up as the routes speed up.

  • On a 12 by 12 chart these 12 answers sit only in the 7 row and the 7 column.
  • Know the 2s to the 6s? Then 7 × 2 to 7 × 6 are old facts turned around.
  • A multiplication chart for 7 turns days into weeks: 7 × 9 = 63, so 63 days are 9 weeks.

Questions and answers

What are the 7 math facts?

The 7 math facts run from 7 × 1 = 7 to 7 × 12 = 84: 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56, 63, 70, 77 and 84. Odd and even answers take turns, and each line has a turnaround, such as 4 × 7 = 28.

Why is there no trick for the 7 times table?

Tricks lean on 10. 2 and 5 divide 10, so their last digits repeat quickly. 9 is one less than 10, which gives the 9s and the 3s their digit totals. 7 divides neither 10 nor 9, so its answers show no short pattern.

Is there a test for multiples of 7?

Double the last digit and take it from the rest of the number. If what is left is in the 7 times table, so is the number you began with. For 91, double 1 is 2 and 9 − 2 = 7, so 91 is 7 × 13.

Can I play 7 times table games on this chart?

You can play one against yourself. Open More options and choose Blank and Mixed up. New quiz deals the 12 lines afresh each time. Type every answer and press Check for a score out of 12. This browser shows it again next visit.

All 20 facts

Know these first: × 1, × 2, × 5, × 10 4

  • 7 × 1 = 7 One group of 7. A week has 7 days, and a heptagon has 7 sides.
  • 7 × 2 = 14 Double 7. Two weeks are 14 days, which is also called a fortnight.
  • 7 × 5 = 35 Half of 7 × 10 = 70. In American football a touchdown with its extra point is 7 points, so 5 of them score 35.
  • 7 × 10 = 70 Write 7, then a 0. Learn this one well, because × 9, × 11 and × 12 all lean on it.

One step from a fact you know 5

  • 7 × 3 = 21 7 × 2 = 14, then one more 7. Opposite faces of a die add up to 7, so its 3 pairs of faces hold 21 dots.
  • 7 × 4 = 28 Double 7 × 2 = 14. February has 28 days in a common year, which is 4 weeks exactly.
  • 7 × 6 = 42 7 × 5 = 35, then one more 7. A seven-spot ladybug has 7 black spots, so 6 ladybugs carry 42.
  • 7 × 9 = 63 Start at 7 × 10 = 70 and take one 7 off: 70 − 7 = 63. Nine weeks are 63 days.
  • 7 × 11 = 77 7 × 10 = 70 and 7 more. Two 7s side by side.

Two steps: 7 × 7, 7 × 8, 7 × 12 3

  • 7 × 7 = 49 7 × 5 = 35 and 7 × 2 = 14, and 35 + 14 = 49. A square number: 7 rows of 7, or every day in 7 weeks.
  • 7 × 8 = 56 Double 7 three times: 14, 28, 56. Or add 7 × 5 = 35 and 7 × 3 = 21, since 35 + 21 = 56.
  • 7 × 12 = 84 7 × 10 = 70 and 7 × 2 = 14, and 70 + 14 = 84. It is 7 dozen, and the number of days in 12 weeks.

Past the chart: 7 × 13 to 7 × 20 8

  • 7 × 13 = 91 7 × 10 = 70 and 7 × 3 = 21, and 70 + 21 = 91. 13 weeks are a quarter of a 52-week year. 91 looks prime, but this fact shows it is not.
  • 7 × 14 = 98 7 × 7 = 49, doubled. This is the last answer in the table below 100.
  • 7 × 15 = 105 7 × 10 = 70 and 7 × 5 = 35, and 70 + 35 = 105. The first answer with three digits.
  • 7 × 16 = 112 7 × 8 = 56, doubled. Or split the 16: 70 + 42 = 112.
  • 7 × 17 = 119 7 × 10 = 70 and 7 × 7 = 49, and 70 + 49 = 119.
  • 7 × 18 = 126 7 × 9 = 63, doubled. Or 7 × 20 = 140 with two 7s taken off: 140 − 14 = 126.
  • 7 × 19 = 133 One 7 short of 7 × 20 = 140, so 140 − 7 = 133. To test it, take double the last digit from the rest: 13 − 6 = 7.
  • 7 × 20 = 140 7 × 2 = 14, then write a 0. Twenty weeks are 140 days.

How this list was compiled: Own work: each of the 20 facts, and every sum in the notes, was worked out by multiplication and again by repeated addition, and the two answers agreed. The real-world notes were checked against Wikipedia on 2026-09-19, among them the 7-day week (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Week), the 28 days of February in a common year (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/February) and the test for multiples of 7 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divisibility_rule).
