How it works
A fact family is three numbers, such as 3, 4 and 12, and the multiplication and division facts they make. This multiplication fact families chart opens on thirty families of the 2s to 5s; other sheets go to 12 × 12.

Print the chart
Press Print the chart. The first chart has thirty rows on one page. With the charts of the 6s to 10s and of the 11s and 12s, every family from 2 × 2 to 12 × 12 is printed once.
One times table at a time
For a class on one table, pick a sheet such as Every family with 7 as a factor: eleven rows, from 2, 7, 14 to 7, 12, 84. The two fill-in charts print only the three numbers, and the pupil writes the facts.
Questions and answers
What is a multiplication fact family?
Three numbers joined by multiplication and division, such as 6, 7 and 42. They make two multiplication facts, 6 × 7 = 42 and 7 × 6 = 42, and two division facts, 42 ÷ 6 = 7 and 42 ÷ 7 = 6.
How many facts are in a fact family?
Four when the two smaller numbers differ, and two when they are the same: 5, 5 and 25 give only 5 × 5 = 25 and 25 ÷ 5 = 5.
What is the fact family of 3, 4 and 12?
3 × 4 = 12, 4 × 3 = 12, 12 ÷ 3 = 4 and 12 ÷ 4 = 3.
Is there a fact families chart to fill in?
Yes, two: the 2s to 5s and the 6s to 10s, each with the three numbers printed and the fact boxes empty. The filled chart of the same families is the answer sheet.
