Three sizes: 50, 75 or 100 words

Three buttons set the size. 50 words fills a 25 by 25 grid, 75 words a 30 by 30 grid and 100 words a 35 by 35 grid, a giant word search puzzle of 1,225 squares. On screen, a bigger grid scrolls inside its frame: drag to pan, then tap a word's first and last letter.

A giant word search printable on one theme

Start from a list holds Animals, Food, Countries, Jobs and Science, each with exactly 100 words, plus Mix of All Five. So a 100-word sheet can stay on one theme, such as countries from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe. You can also type up to 100 words of your own in the last place of the list under the grid.

Printed letters: about 9.5 point at 50 words, 10 at 75 and just under 9 at 100.
No word hides inside another: Oman, Niger and Mali are left out because Romania, Nigeria and Somalia are in.

Are 100 word word searches printable on one sheet?

The grid is. Press 100 words and the grid prints 18 cm wide on a sheet of its own; the 100-word list follows on the next sheet and the answer key comes last. At 50 words the grid and list share one sheet.

Are the 100 word search puzzles printable as a PDF?

Yes. Press Print or save as PDF and choose Save as PDF in the print window. The file has 3 pages at 75 or 100 words and 2 pages at 50.

What is the biggest word search printable here?

A 40 by 40 grid, 1,600 squares, the largest word search this page builds. Press 100 words for 35 by 35; the grid grows toward 40 by 40 when words you add need the room. The grid prints on its own sheet, with 4.5 mm squares and letters just under 8 point.

Why does a 50-word puzzle need a 25 by 25 grid?

Because 50 words need room to cross without crowding. Fifty animals from this list hold about 350 letters, and a 25 by 25 grid has 625 squares, so roughly half the grid is words. A 20 by 20 grid has only 400 squares.
