Look-alike words are what make difficult word search puzzles difficult, so all 6 lists are built from them: Ends in LE, Starts with CON, Starts with ST, Starts with PR, Ends in TION and Anagram Pairs, 44 words each. When Battle, Cattle, Kettle and Rattle share a grid, finding TTLE proves nothing.

Decoys, and the extreme setting

What does the word search Hard level change?

Hard lets words run in all eight directions, backward included. Medium drops the backward words, and Easy keeps to across and down. On this page Hard also plants the decoys, so pressing Medium or Easy gives you the same list without them.

Can I hide my own words in a difficult word find?

Yes. Type up to 40 words in the list under the grid, or paste them into its last place. Words that share an ending or a prefix make the hardest worksheet. They stay in this browser.
