How it works
This simple word scramble is ten everyday words of four letters, such as Fork and Taxi, each with a hint under it. No scramble has a second answer, and the answer key prints on its own page.

Lists by length
The opening list is 4 letters. Pick a longer one under Start from a list: 5 letters (Juice, Panda) or 6 letters (Kitten, Zipper). New scramble mixes the letters again and may swap in other words of the list.
Make it simpler still
Under More options, below the sheet, set Scramble to Easy, and the first letter of every word stays in its place. Leave Hints under the words switched on.
- Read the hint before the letters: A young cat narrows TEKTIN down fast.
- Double letters help: the two Ls of Pillow and the two Ts of Button go side by side.
Questions and answers
Does the simple word scramble have an answer key?
Yes. The answer key prints on a second page after the sheet. To print the puzzle alone, switch off Print the answer key under More options, below the sheet.
What words are on it?
Things a young child can name: Fork, Foot, Doll and Taxi at 4 letters, Juice, Thumb and Panda at 5, Kitten, Pillow and Button at 6. Every word is listed with its hint under the tool.
Can a scramble have two answers?
Not on these lists. Every word was checked against a dictionary word list, so no set of letters here spells a second word. Lamp was left out because its letters also make palm, and Sofa because they make oafs.
Can I use my own simple words?
Yes. Type them over the words on the sheet, or paste your list into its last line. The sheet redraws with your list.
