Play a round
The page opens as one of our spelling games for 4th graders. A meaning shows under the tiles, so you know which word to spell. Tap the letters in order. A right word moves on by itself, and a wrong one hands the tiles back. The clock starts with your first tile. At the end you see your score, your time and the words that got away.
Change the grade, or customize it with your own list
Under Start from a list, pick Kindergarten or Grade 1 to Grade 6, then press New scramble for 10 fresh words. For this week's list, open More options, press Worksheet and type the words on the sheet, then press Play. Add a meaning after a colon, like zebra: a striped horse.
- Skip a hard word and it comes back at the end of the round. Show answer counts the word as missed.
- Type the words that got away on the Worksheet, in More options, and play them again the next day.
- Words whose letters also spell another word, such as stop and listen, are left out, so every scramble has 1 answer.
