These rounding worksheets go from 2-digit numbers to the nearest 10 up to 6-digit numbers to the nearest 1,000. Each press of Make a new sheet deals new numbers, and the key prints on page 2.

Look one place to the right
To round to the nearest ten, look at the ones digit: 0 to 4 stays, 5 to 9 goes up, so 43 is 40 and 47 is 50. The first sheet leaves out numbers ending in 5; the next ones keep them, and halfway rounds up: 365 is 370.
Bigger numbers, same rule
For 1,000 look at the hundreds digit: 624,519 rounds to 625,000. One number, nearest 10 and nearest 1,000 shows that the two answers need not agree. The estimate sheets round first, then check the exact answer.
- Round from the original number each time. 7,455 to the nearest 10 is 7,460, but rounding 7,460 again is a different question.
Questions and answers
Is there a rounding to the nearest ten worksheet?
The To the nearest 10 group has four: 2-digit numbers with no 5s, 3-digit numbers, 5-digit numbers, and a sheet that names the two tens a number sits between.
What grade learns rounding?
In Common Core states, grade 3 rounds whole numbers to the nearest 10 or 100, and grade 4 rounds multi-digit numbers to any place. The 5-digit and 6-digit sheets here are grade 4 work.
Does 5 round up or down?
Up, on these math rounding worksheets: a number exactly halfway goes to the higher ten, hundred or thousand, so 365 is 370 and 7,500 is 8,000.
