Choose the sheet
Print the reading log gives the kindergarten to grade 2 sheet as it stands. In the Sheet menu, grades 3 to 6 swaps in prompts such as a tall tale with a hero who brags and a book about how weather is forecast. The goal line reads In March I will read __ minutes.
March has 31 days
For a row a day, pick the March reading log with 31 days: the dates 1 to 31 are printed, with Book title, Minutes and Parent initials beside them. It names no year and no weekday. The tracker gives 31 boxes to color.
- The plant on the windowsill prompt pairs well with a bean or seed the class is already growing.
Questions and answers
When is the first day of spring on the March reading log?
The sheet leaves the date open, because it moves. In the northern half of the world astronomical spring begins at the March equinox, which falls on March 19, 20 or 21.
What are the March reading prompts?
Kindergarten to grade 2 has 12, among them a book about mud and puddles, a book about birds building a nest and an old tale told in many lands. Grades 3 to 6 have 12 more, such as a book about why the seasons change.
How many days are on the March reading log?
31, one row for each date. The challenge sheets have 12 rows, one for each prompt, and the by week sheet rules them off in 4 weeks of 3.
Does the March reading log show a year?
No. It prints the dates 1 to 31 with no year and no weekday, so a copy kept from this March is still right next March.
