How it works
Isometric paper is a grid of small triangles made by three sets of lines at 60 degrees, so a cube drawn on it shows three faces. Sheets run from 5 mm to 1 inch, as lines or dots.

Isometric drawing paper printable for cubes
Draw one cube first: an upright line for the front edge, then two slanted lines along the grid for the top. Big triangles (1 inch or 2 cm) suit a first drawing of a block building; 5 mm suits detailed objects.
Lines or dots
The dot sheets put a dot at each corner of a triangle and draw no lines, so only your drawing shows. The landscape sheets and the 11 x 17 or A3 sheet give room for a wide building or a room plan.
- Hold the page so one set of lines runs straight up and down; vertical edges of the object follow it.
- Measure a side with a ruler after printing. If it is short, print again at 100%, not Fit to page.
Questions and answers
What is isometric graph paper printable used for?
Drawing solids in three dimensions: cube buildings in math, sketches in design and technical drawing, and patterns built from triangles and hexagons. Six triangles meet at every point, so hexagons are ready-made.
Can I get isometric paper printable pdf files?
Press Print isometric paper and choose Save as PDF as the printer. The file holds the one sheet on screen, at exact size, on Letter, A4, 11 x 17 or A3.
What size isometric paper is best for kids?
Start with 1 inch or 2 cm triangles, which leave room for a pencil and small hands. Move to 1/2 inch or 1 cm once a pupil can draw a cube without help.
