Eight lists, one for each part of the unit
Start from a list offers Landforms (25), Bodies of Water (25), Map Skills (26), Climate and Biomes (21), Continents and Oceans (13), Tricky Country Names (24), People and Places (16) and Languages of the World (32). Continents and Oceans holds the seven continents, the five oceans and the word Continent, few enough for one 16-word puzzle.
Definitions in place of the word list
Tick Show clues, not words, in More options. Pupils read "A piece of land almost entirely surrounded by water but still connected to a mainland", decide it is a peninsula, then hunt for it. Country clues give a location and a capital: "Landlocked country in East Asia, between Russia and China. Capital: Ulaanbaatar." is Mongolia.
- Tricky Country Names holds 24 spellings such as Kyrgyzstan. For every country by continent, print the countries word search.
- The oceans are written in full, as in Arctic Ocean, because ARCTIC alone can be read inside ANTARCTICA.
- For grades 2 and 3, pick Easy Geography and 8 words: 45 short words such as Map, Bay and Cape.

Press Print or save as PDF. A computer offers Save as PDF in its list of printers; a phone opens a print preview that can be saved or shared as a PDF. Choose the list and level first: the file copies the puzzle on screen.
How do I print the puzzle for a whole class?
Print one copy and photocopy it, or press New puzzle between printouts so that neighbors get different grids from the same list. Each geography word search printable carries its own answer key.
Why does the list name five oceans?
Wikipedia's Ocean article, checked on 2026-09-19, lists five, by area: Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern and Arctic. The Southern Ocean circles Antarctica, generally south of 60 degrees S. If your textbook teaches four, take Southern Ocean off the list with the cross beside it.
