Seven lists, from recess to rights

Playing Fair has Coin toss, Referee and Tiebreaker. Sharing and Equal Parts has Half and Fifty-fifty. Fair Decisions has Impartial, Mediator and Rubric. Justice and Rights has Equity, Due process and Ombudsman. Fair to Everyone has Include, Accommodate and Ramp. What Is Not Fair has Favoritism, Loophole and Double standard, and Words Close to Fairness has Aboveboard and Disinterested.

Two clues to talk about

Cut and choose is a way for two people to divide a cake: one slices, the other picks first. Blindfold sits in Fair Decisions because some statues of Justice wear one, to stand for favoring no one; the same statues hold Scales.

  • Fair alone is not hidden, because it would read inside Fairness: the lists have Unfair and Fair play.
  • For a character lesson, print What Is Not Fair and ask the class what would mend each word.
