For the class that listened

A before and after slip has boxes for For, Against and Not sure. A both sides slip has a column of reasons for and one of reasons against. The ballot asks which side made the better case and what the other side needed.

For a debater

Four slips are for speakers: a self-check with boxes for Yes and Not yet, my best point and the one I missed, a rebuttal slip that starts The other side said, and one that weighs the evidence behind a claim.

  • The short slip has one prompt: A question I would ask the other side.
  • The last sheet is a sample from a made-up class debate on longer recess.

Questions and answers

What do you put on a debate exit ticket?

Ask what the listener heard and what it did to their view: the strongest argument, a point they would rebut and whether they changed their mind. Speakers get slips of their own.

Do the debate exit tickets work for a class discussion?

Yes. The Topic line is blank and no format, round or speaking time is printed. The discussion slip, on disagreeing politely, also fits a seminar or a class meeting.

How many debate exit tickets print on a page?

Four, except on two sheets: the short slip prints six to a page and the sample is a single full page.
