Cinco de Mayo coloring by numbers, with Puebla in it
The Talavera tile is Puebla's own pottery, drawn in blue around a yellow and orange flower: 68 blue squares on the easy grid. The Flag of Mexico is green, white and red, with a 2 by 2 brown block where the eagle of the coat of arms goes. The dahlia is Mexico's national flower.
Short sheets and long ones
The easy Star piñata is the shortest sheet, 62 squares in red, yellow, green and purple. The easy Papel picado banner is the longest: all 144 squares get a color, because blue sky shows through the cut paper. Choose Detailed 24 by 24 under Size for four flags and 576 squares.
- Yellow is the main crayon on the Sombrero: 74 of its 92 easy squares.
- The detailed Talavera tile mirrors left to right and top to bottom.
Questions and answers
What does Cinco de Mayo celebrate?
Mexico's victory over a French army at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. It is not Mexico's Independence Day, which is September 16. The city of Puebla marks the day with festivals and reenactments of the battle.
Is the eagle on the Flag of Mexico sheet?
Only as a few brown squares. The real flag has the national coat of arms, an eagle on a cactus, in the center of the white stripe. A 12 by 12 grid has room for a 2 by 2 emblem, so the drawing is simplified.
Are the Cinco de Mayo printable color by number sheets free?
Yes. Print gives one Letter or A4 page with the picture's name, the crayon key and the grid, and the colored answer key follows as page 2 unless you uncheck Answer key on page 2.
