How it works
This Christmas word scramble mixes up tree, gift and baking words, from Bell and Holly to Poinsettia. The opening sheet has medium words with a hint under each, and the answers print on a page of their own.

Xmas scramble words by level
The easy list is short words: Bell, Gift, Elf, Jolly. Medium, the opening sheet, holds Wreath, Sleigh, Eggnog and Chimney. The hard list reaches Nutcracker, Mistletoe and Wrapping paper. To change lists, pick one under Start from a list.
For a class party or a grown-up table
As a winter holiday word scramble it stays with trees, gifts and baking, so one sheet suits a mixed class. For an adult Christmas word scramble, pick the hard list and switch off Hints under the words under More options, below the sheet.
- Wrapping paper is two words: each is mixed on its own, so the gap stays where it belongs.
- A poinsettia's flowers are the small yellow buds in the middle. The showy red parts round them are leaves.
Questions and answers
Is there a Christmas word scramble with answers?
Yes. The answer key prints on a second page after the worksheet. To print the puzzle alone, switch off Print the answer key under More options, below the sheet.
Is the Christmas word scramble printable as a PDF?
Yes. Press Print and choose Save as PDF in the print window. The sheet fits one Letter or A4 page, and the answer key follows on a second page.
Does the list have religious words?
No. It is trees, gifts, baking and winter fun, with no nativity word, no character from a film or a book and no song title, so one sheet can go to a whole class.
What grades is it for?
The easy list (Bell, Gift, Joy) suits kindergarten and grade 1 with hints on. Medium suits grades 2 and 3. The hard list (Peppermint, Poinsettia) suits grade 4 and up, and adults with the hints off.
Can a class play it on the board?
Yes. Open More options and press Play. One scrambled word shows at a time: tap the letter tiles in order, and a right word moves on to the next.
